How to add color to your wardrobe
Adding color to your wardrobe is always a fun task to do. The best and easiest way to do so depends on your body type, personality, and believe it or not your skin tone. As young adults, we develop different fashion styles that are an adaptation of our own personalities. Being able to feel comfortable in what you’re wearing is guaranteed confidence. Bright and bold colors are always a great way to bring life to your look. Adding colors to your wardrobe can also showcase your personality a bit more, so finding colors that are flattering for you should be a goal.
If you don’t know where to start, here are a few tips:
Find your Color, incorporate colors that complement your eyes if you have gray eyes, black or darker tone colors would bring out your eyes, for blue eyes I suggest warmer tone colors as in copper, purple or auburn and for brown eyes any or vibrant colors like red, yellow, or orange etc. will do.
2. Keep it Classic, if you are an individual that has a predominant color in their wardrobe such as black or white you may want to start off small by bringing just the right amount of attention to yourself, I propose adding charcoal, navy blue, or any low contrasting colors. Or pair a colorful top with pants in a similar hue.
3. Keeping it “Neutral,” If you’re wearing an outfit of neutral colors, I suggest pairing it with maybe a slightly more intense color of what you’re already wearing or a color that complements or attracts each other.
4. Start small! Starting small is always the easiest way to add color to your wardrobe; by simply knowing your body and what shades look the best on your skin, you’re able to start altering your outfits!
5. Be Monochromatic! For a more elevated and sophisticated look, combines different hues of the same color together in the same outfit. This shows onlookers that you know your colors, and you are not afraid to experiment where others do not dare to venture.
6. Try new accessories! Adding colorful accessories such as earrings, statement necklaces, belts or sunglasses in bold colors could easily transition your look from drab to fab!
