Companies Plan Exclusive Plus Size Releases
Companies like Target, LOFT, New York & Co, and Madewell are all set to release a plus size clothing line! All of these lines are targeted to women who love affordable fashion. In 2017 Target released a plus-size collection but it lacked diversity and cute clothing, so let’s hope that they got it right this time around! In February LOFT released a line of plus-size clothing that included extremely cute pieces that encouraged the curvy girl to wear prints and colors. The collection ranges from a size 16-26 and included 75 items that are ready to wear. Also in February, New York & Co, released a collection for the curvy girls in a collaboration with Gabrielle Union. This collection is for the girls with bawdy who love classic professional looks with a flare. This collection included sizes 0-20 and XS-XXL, but in April New York & Co. is also set to expand the collection to petite and tall sizes. Lastly, Madewell is now offering a very exclusive collection of pants for curvy women. Although their collection is very small and they’re also using regular sized models to showcase their clothing.
I am glad that companies are starting to expand their clothing options for the curvy women. The plus-size market is a $21 billion industry and it’s time that someone cashes in on it! There are billions of women in the world and no one body is the same so for a brand to only cater to one type is unfair. So instead of offering ankle-length dresses and turtlenecks remember that plus size women want to be sexy too!
