Chris Paul Starts Journey as a Student at Winston Salem State University
After showing his support to HBCUs during NBA bubble play, Chris
Paul has enrolled in a class at Winston-Salem State University and will
encourage students to get to the polls.
In an interview on ESPN’s First Take , he spoke about voting and helping HBCU students. “We are providing transportation to HBCU students to get the polls so we are working on that now.” He will be partnering with two other NBA players as well.
During NBA bubble play raised awareness to HBCUs by wearing
various HBCUs on his shoes and for his pre/post game outfits. Norfolk
State University, Texas Southern, and Winston Salem State were just a
few of the schools represented.
The North Carolina native attended Wake Forest University for two
seasons before entering the NBA draft. He has deep ties to HBCUs as
both his parents attended WSSU and his brother went to Hampton.
