Chloe X Halle
The Grammy nominated group Chloe X Halle released their sophomore album titled the “Ungodly Hour” June 12th. The sisters, Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey are not kids anymore and through the lyrics and language used in each song they show just how grown-ish they are.
The album consists of songs that are predominantly about the empowerment of women, love, toxic relationships, and just being young. Featured on this album are Swae Lee and Mike WiLL Made-It.
The Bailey sisters caught the attention of Beyonce from doing a youtube video singing “Pretty Hurts” and have thrived ever since releasing mixtapes and now albums. The two sisters are signed to Beyonce’s record label Parkwood Entertainment and also appear on the television series “Grown-ish” as recurring characters. Halle Bailey has also announced that she will play as Ariel in the live action Little Mermaid for Disney.
Chloe X Halle song “Do it” off the album sparked a major social media trend along with their music video that was released before the album. Social media fans started the “Do it” challenge where they would mimic the dance moves on the music video. The group performed “Do it” on the Today Show on June 16th adhering to social distancing protocols by doing essentially a live music video.
Their voices may still sound innocent and angelic but the lyrics make them both women. Check out their new album that is available on all platforms and look below for their appearance on the Today show performing “Do it”.
