Black Excellence at the 2020 Roc Nation Brunch
Hip Hip Icon, Jay Z, and his entertainment agency, Roc Nation, hosted their annual pre-Grammy Sunday Brunch on January 26th in Los Angeles. The invite list for the brunch features the music industry’s biggest names, and everyone is dressed to impress. The hosting couple, Beyonce and Jay-Z, wore complimenting pastel colored suits and didn’t shy away from photo opportunities with their friends! The amount of black excellence was amazing to see! Stars like Big Sean, Megan Thee Stallion, Ella Mai, Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Diddy, Kevin Hart, and many others came to the brunch and had an amazing time. Last year, Lauren London and the late Nipsey Hussle attended the Brunch, but this year, she decided to honor his legacy and bring his sister, Samantha Smith.
The celebrities were not hesitant about sharing their brunch looks on social media! People loved seeing T.I and Rihanna in their yellow/green tinted outfits that accompanied each other well, Beyonce and Jay-Z in their powersuits, and Megan the Stallion decked out in orange. The well decorated mansion party gained so much traction, that social media deemed that the event is more exciting to watch on social media than the Grammys. Attendees were surrounded with various food and drink options, including mini waffles and chocolate churros infused with liquor. As the brunch continued, there were various toasts made by celebrities that were meant to encourage, inspire and unite the hip hop community. One of the most memorable toasts came from Kevin Hart, one of the most well known comedians, where he encouraged the men to think deeply on how great they want to be, and inspired them to chase after their dreams. There is no mention of where or not the attendees were informed of the Kobe Bryant helicopter accident while at the brunch.
