Kirk Whalum’s new album Humanite!
Gospel/Jazz saxophonist recently released a new album titled Humantie’. Kirk recorded Humanite’ in various countries such as Tokyo, Paris, Nairobi, and Johanesburg. The purpose of this album was to channel emotion and bring attention to the various civil rights issues occuring around the world. Kirk Whalum has been in the music game for quite some time, so he would be the perfect musician to travel the world and record songs to channel those emotions. Kirk Whalum has performed with various artists such as Luther Vandross, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, and the late great Whitney Houston on her number one hit “I Will Always Love You”. He is known to have one of the most successful Jazz Soloist careers, having 25 solo albums under his belt and a number of award wins and nominations. The tracklist includes songs like “Move On Up”, “Everybody Oughta Be Free”, “Wake Up Everybody”, and “Get Your Wings Up”. Kirk does a great job of including vocals, percussion, and of course the saxophone, bringing various sounds together to make the album what it is. Kirk will also be going on a short tour performing many of his hits and various songs from the recent album. Humanite’ is sure to evoke emotion and cause you to think about the lyrics of each song.
