Snooki is FINISHED with Jersey Shore

When you become a parent, your life truly changes for the best, and you are encouraged to make decisions that are best for your family. Nicole Polizzi, who is better known as Snooki, made a name for herself on American TV screens through the show ‘Jersey Shore’ on MTV. After the first season, it was obvious that Snooki was the star of the show, so much that her image became one of the most popular celebrity Halloween costumes in 2010. She was involved in a lot of interesting situations, including being punched in the face by a high school gym teacher. A year later, Snooki was awarded with a spin off show with her friend/costar, Jennifer Farley (better known as Jwoww), called Snooki & Jwoww, where they showed the pair moving in with each other, navigating everyday life, and partying hard.

In March of 2012, Snooki found out that she was pregnant, which means that she could no longer participate in the crazy and alcohol involved activities that made her shows popular. Instead, the show decided to focus on her pregnancy and motherhood journey. Outside of her MTV fame, Snooki also showcased her talent and personalities on Dancing with the Stars, the CMT Music Awards, Cake Boss, and several WWE episodes. She was even granted the opportunity to speak at Rutgers University, a college in New Jersey, about her rise to fame and what is important while in school. Snooki made several ‘controversial’ comments, including a statement about the student should “study hard, but party harder”.

As time progressed, Snooki’s family grew. She was engaged to Jionni LaValle during the births of her first and second children, Lorezno and Giovanna, and was married by November of 2014. The couple didn’t stop at just two children, they added one more child to their family, Angelo, who was born in May of 2019. While having her family, she still starred in ‘Snooki & Jwoww’, then ‘Snooki & Jwoww: Moms with Attitude’, had her own show with her husband ‘Nicole & Jionni’s Shore Flip’, and is currently on ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’. Snooki and her family have been on all three seasons of ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ , but she recently announced that her days on the show are officially over. When presented with the opportunity to be in the fourth season, she respectfully declined. While recording her podcast. ‘It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey’, she told fans that the show doesn’t fit how she wants to live her life with her family. Snooki went on to say, “I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I wanna be home with the kids. You know, like, I don’t mind a here and there going to dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard for me to leave the kids and film the show.” She feels as though the show no longer focuses on family and the good times that they have with each other, instead, it is being more drama focused (like every other reality TV show), and it’s becoming too much for her to handle.

In my personal opinion, I think that it is a great decision for Snooki to retire from the Jersey Shore franchise. She is married and has three children, and it has to be a lot to leave them and focus on a show that is more work than fun. I respect the fact that Snooki knows that family is more important than money and fame, and I hope that she has a great year focusing solely on her family.
