Hip Hop Legeneds Are Nomineed For Songwriters Hall of Fame
In the early 2000s, OutKast and The Neptunes created numerous hits through their own performance capabilities and for their peers. Nearly a decade later, both duos have the chance to get the recognition they deserve by being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. OutKast, a duo with Andre 3000 and Big Boi, have been nominated for the Performing Songwriters category.
This category also is home to other legends like The Isley Brothers and Mariah Carey. On the other hand, The Neptunes, a duo of producers Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, are placed in the Songwriters category. This category has nominees including William ‘Mickey’ Stevenson. Over the years, other hip-hop icons have been inducted into the Hall of Fame already. These icons include Jay-Z, Dallas Austin, Jermaine Dupri, and Missy Elliot.
The Neptunes are known for their iconic hits for various types of genres. Brittany Spears “I’m A Slave 4 U,” Jay-Z’s “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me),” and Beyonce’s “Work It Out” are only a few. OutKast’s track record includes hits like “Hey Ya!” and the production of Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
