Deborah Cox’s New Single “Easy Way”
Grammy-nominated R&B singer, Deborah Cox recently released her latest song “Easy Way” on November 1st. She sports a sultry silhouette in the cover art of the single, looking as if she aged backwards and is ready to give us some heartfelt music. Known for her #1 1998 top-charting track, “Nobody’s Supposed to be Here” produced by Montell Jordan and Anthony “Shep” Crawford, Cox’s music is not only highly anticipated, but it is also heavily critiqued. It is evident that the pressure from her fanbase is more of an inspiration than it is a challenge. “Easy Way” does not contain the gospel-like chords or the ballad-feel that most Deborah Cox fans are used to; this song is more modern, but the amazing vocality from Cox is still present. “Easy Way” describes the difficult tribulations that love brings. Cox sings “There's no easy way to stay/ When it hurts so much/ Especially when you think you've had enough/ Ain't no easy way to love.”
“Easy Way” is the first single Deborah Cox has released since Valentine’s Day 2018. The single was written and produced by Rico Love and DTown. After a two year album hiatus, hopefully “Easy Way” is the start of something new from the soul artist. That something new will be her seventh album, which is set to be released in 2020. After embracing various trades not just including music but broadway, fashion, and film, Deborah Cox is finally coming back to provide some R&B tunes to her audience and to say the least, it is exciting! Stay tuned for more music from the reigning artist and be sure to go stream “Easy Way” on all musical platforms.
