Exciting news for Emmy nominated, Jo Issa Rae Diop. Who is that? We may know her as Insecure’s actor and director, Issa Rae. Issa Rae is a multi talented writer, producer, and director. Not to mention her voice addition to Google assistant. Now she can add record label executive to her resume.

“Working with emerging talent is a personal passion. Radio allows me to continue that work within the music industry and audio entertainment.” Rae launched, Raedio (note her name is in the name), a company that has a mission to feature Los Angeles based female artists. The first artist is Haitian singer, TeaMarrr, whose first single (independent of Rae’s label), “One Job” was released in 2018. The single had streams of 1.2 million and counting. The label released TeaMarrr’s first official single and video for “Kinda Love.” Of course, Rae had a cameo appearance in the video. Raedio launched October 18th and also provides musical direction for the Black Lady Sketch Show.

Rae has been nominated for two Golden Globes, one Emmy, and has had a book on the New York Times best seller list. With Raedio, surely, Rae will add a Grammy to her list of honors.
