Urban One Honors Awards

The annual Urban One Honors Awards will take place on Thursday, December 5th, 2019 in Oxon Hill, MD at MGM National Harbor. The Awards show is presented by TV One and various radio stations in Washington D.C. including Majic 102.3 and 92.7, WKYS 93.9, Praise 104.1, WOL 1450, Spirit 1340, and the Team 980 and 95.9. The telecast will air for two hours on TV One’s network on January 20th, 2020 (Martin Luther King Jr Day). The awards show will honor 40 years of the history of Radio One and its founder Cathy Hughes, and the contribution of various African-Americans’ success to mainstream media. The categories include entertainment, media, music, fashion, sports, education, and community service.

Last year’s Urban One Honors Awards was hosted by DL Hughley and was attended by many stars who were able to be honored or presented awards. Some of which include people like, Jermaine Dupri, DJ Khaled, Marvin Sapp, Brandy, Ray J, L.A. Reid, Johnny Gill, K-Ci of Jodeci, Elle Varner, etc. With a line up like that, the expectations are high for the 2019 award’s show. This humbling inaugural awards show is open to the public.
