4th Annual Black Music Honors Premiere
The 4th Annual Black Music Honors was hosted by comedian/radio host, Rickey Smiley and singer, LeToya Luckett at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, GA on September 5th. In the span of two hours, various legendary acts were tributed and awarded for their contribution to black music over the decades. Xscape was given the Urban Music Icon Award to celebrate 25 years in the industry, Yolanda Adams received the Gospel Music Icon Award, and Freddie Jackson was also awarded along with others.
The Awards show included tremendous tribute performances from artists like Jade Novah, Jagged Edge, Avery Wilson, Dee-1, Jekalyn Carr, Naughty By Nature, June’s Diary, KeKe Wyatt, Kelly Price, Melanie Fiona, Le’Andria Johnson, 702, Tevin Campbell, Mali Music, MAJOR, etc. The wonderful lineup of performers provided great entertainment for the honoring of so many African American contributions to black culture.
