Essence Festival 2019 25th Anniversary
New Orleans, Louisiana, a city infused with culture and festive tradition, welcomed Essence Festival 2019 with a luxurious of events for all natives, travelers, and entertainment performers during their 25th anniversary! The Magazine and company The Divah Filez (https://www.thedivahfilez.com/) created for and ran by aspiring HBCU journalist students, founded by journalist and writer for Sheen magazine, Jazyme Byrd. Two Divah Filez writers Alivia Duncan, a sophomore and Mass Communications student at Cark Atlanta, and Ke’Andrea Williams, a recent Digital Journalism graduate from Miles College, accompanied Founder Jazmyne Byrd. The entire weekend of Essence Festival (June 5 th -7 th ) there were tons of performances, vendors, and Free events all located in the convention center in New Orleans! There were refreshing samples of rare Cocoa Cola flavors like vanilla, orange, and cherry served throughout the center along with free McDonald’s meals! Stars such as Lala Anthony (pictured above), Kierra Sheard (pictured below), Diggy Simmons, Michelle Williams (pictured below), Trevor Jackson, Jasmine Sullivan, Marsai Martin, Tamron Hall, Erica Campbell, Halle Bailey, and many more were spotted there! Runway shows, trunk shows, and live interviews were also part of essence extravaganza! The Divah filez had exclusive access and highlights from Entertainment all –access sponsors such as Bet and Netflix and more, check below!
