ESPN Bans Lavar Ball From All Platforms For "Sexual Remark" During Interview
No more ESPN for LaVar Ball. Ball is banned from ESPN after making an inappropriate comment towards Molly Qerim, an ESPN TV host. Qerim interviewed Ball live and at this point of the conversation, things went left. “LaVar, can I switch gears with you, because I have a question here,” Qerim said.
Ball responded: “You can switch gears with me anytime.” This response cause a scene on social media platforms. According to FOX Sports, Qerim looked shocked at the insinuation and she mentioned calling human resources at the end of the show. Many took to Twitter to commend Qerim for handling the situation professionally and keeping her composure and on the other hand they bashed Ball. TMZ reported that Ball’s representative told them that his comments weren’t intended to be sexual. “(LaVar) was asked if he wanted to switch gears, in his mind switching gears was ‘changing the subject anytime’ and he said ‘yes, you can switch gears with me anytime.’ At NO time was that intended or meant to be sexual in nature.” Personally, I’m not a fan of ESPN or any sports some I’m not aware of Ball’s previous outbursts or actions. The ones who are not big fans of Ball says he’s an annoying loudmouth who always has something slick to say. Then you have others who believe he’s a marketing genius but I guess that’s another conversation. Ball did take to Twitter by posting an unbothered video saying that Qerim’s mind was the gutter and he didn’t mean any harm by his comment. Maybe he was being flirtatious or maybe this all is a big misunderstanding. Either way, it’s a way to conduct yourself live on television at a business gig.
