Lyfe Jennings is Saying Goodbyes with Final Album “777”
Lyfe Jennings is saying farewell to music after six albums and 15 years in the music industry with the release of his seventh album, 777. The album will be composed of 16 songs that were selected over 100 recorded tracks with features from Tank, Boosie Bad Azz, Bobby V and Algebra Blessett. Jennings expressed to sources, “This is a task that requires soul-searching and the audacity to vocalize one’s mistakes. I believe I’ve done that, honestly, over the past decade. I just hope this last album finds you better off than the previous 6 before it.” The Ohio R&B soulful singer has always been recognized for his distinctive raspy soulful voice, honest and real lyricism, and acoustic skills. Lyfe has had many trials and tribulations in his life and career. After being sentenced to 10 years in prison for being convicted of arson in Northwest Ohio, Lyfe dropped his debut album Lyfe 268-192, after his release, August 2004. However, unfortunately, things began spiraling again for the talented singer when he was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison in 2010 after he pleaded guilty to the multiple charges arising from an incident involving an ex-girlfriend.Since then, Lyfe has remained on the straight and narrow, even appearing briefly in reality television series, “Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta” as the failed love interest of Karlie Redd. In regard to his final album, Jennings continued on to say, “I tried to keep my subject matter as even- toned as I could, but y’all know me lol, I’m deep as fu#@. I could write for days about the process, but this time the music did all the talking for me. The album was a day, in a forever, in a never,” he finishes poetically.
Jennings released the single for the album “Accusing Me”, which is already making an impact on urban adult contemporary radio. “Accusing Me” is a classic tasteful Lyfe track. The song is about distrust and reconciliation when a lover is insecure. He sings, “Always accusing me, wanna see my phone/You say your intuition's saying that I'm doing wrong/I might as well be running around/There's only so much I can take before I just break down.” The album is set to be released August 26th .
