Cardi B Strip Club Case Goes To Grand Jury
American rapper, songwriter and television personality Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar known professionally as Cardi B was booked and arrested back in October due to the alleged strip club incident. The case has now gotten more serious for Cardi as she might have to serve time. Cardi appeared before the judge in New York on Friday May 31st for her ongoing misdemeanor strip club assault. She was dressed in a pink pantsuit and her extra long pink sparkling nails as she entered Queens Supreme Court. Her misdemeanor counts of assault and reckless endangerment could stiffer her chargers due to having a grand jury on her case. Last August is when alleged assault occurred. Bartenders and sisters Baddie Gi and Jade of Angel’s Strip Club in Queens claimed that Cardi ordered an attack on the women because she believed her husband Offset had an affair with one of them. Reports says Cardi was throwing chairs, ice buckets, hookah pipes and bottles at 3am in the club. Some of Cardi’s violent actions were caught on camera. Cardi’s lawyer states that she didn’t harm anyone during this altercation whereas the victim’s lawyer says otherwise. Cardi surrendered to the police, took fingerprints and a mugshot in October 2018. She appeared somber and didn’t utter a sound at her recent hearing. In April, Cardi shut down a plea deal that was offered by prosecutors. The deal that was presented was avoiding jail time but pleading guilty to one misdemeanor charge but she showed no interest in this agreement. Cardi’s next court date has been set for August 9 with her attorney Jeff Kern. Since the initial incident, Cardi and Offset’s relationship has been on and off and now Jade is dating Tekashi 6ix9ine. The state attorney's made the decision “ after further investigation” but did not reveal details of what they found, according to TMZ.
