Ciara Drops New Album “Beauty Marks”
Ciara has truly leveled up after releasing her anticipated album, Beauty Marks on May 10th, 2019, nearly a year after releasing her very popular single, “Level Up.” Just like many of her previous records, this latest album is filled with female empowerment, and dance type tunes. Featuring tracks like “Girl Gang” with Kelly Rowland, and “I Love Myself” with Macklemore, it is evident that Ciara did some soul-searching while producing this album.
Needless to say, it wouldn't be a Ciara project without containing love songs. The album includes a track dedicated to her husband, Russell Wilson, called "Greatest Love." She mentions Russell's fatherly relationship with her son, whom she had from her previous relationship with the rapper Future. She sings, "I should've known when you took my son as your own, I'm not sayin' I ain't like all the carats and the stone." The album concludes with a song entitled the same as the album, "Beauty Marks." Bringing the entire tracklist to an end, this song denotes Ciara's appreciation for her husband's acceptance of her flaws. As if the song wasn't already heartwarming, the music video seals the deal with footage from their wedding and the birth of their daughter, Sienna Wilson. Ciara's life has seemed to come full circle 15 years after her music debut and you can't help but be happy for her.
