Erica Mena Shades Nicki Minaj
Erica Mena and her man Safaree paid a visit to Hot 97 with Nessa to talk about all things surrounding their relationship and of course, the topic of Safaree's ex Nicki Minaj came up. Erica was asked if she is a fan on Nicki and if she bumps the rapper's music. “Honestly I grew up on Lil Kim so heavy, that when [Nicki Minaj] came out, I was like ‘ugh she’s biting my girl.’ It just was what it was,” she explained, where Nessa let her know that “Nicki’s still great.”
“She is, I’ve just never been drawn to it,” Erica responded. “It was always just cartoon-y and stuff. She’s great at what she does, but me personally…if it’s in the club and you’re nice. But I would never…I don’t know the words.”
Naturally, The Barbz took the statement into their own hands and did some digging that proves Erica may have told some lies. Old tweets from Erica's Twitter feed prove that she actually was a fan of Nicki at one time. The Love & Hip Hop New York star once tweeted Nicki's lyrics and even tweeted at Nicki, dissing Lil Kim at the same time.
Needless to say, the “LHH” star’s remarks about Minaj really teed off the Barbz who happen to be die-hard fans of the “Chun-Li” artist. They took matters into their hands and pulled some old tweets of Mena’s from 2010 and 2012 where she’s mentioning Minaj and even dissing Queen Bee Lil Kim.
Nobody told Erica Mena to delete her old Barb tweets before coming out and saying she doesn’t know the words to any of Nicki’s songs and she’s cartoon-y? See when you do clownery...
Erica is seemingly unfazed by the calling out of her supposed lies, posting an image of Lil Kim holding a gun to her Instagram feed and thanking her haters for free promo.
