Nipsey's Mother Speaks Out
As the world continues to mourn the death of Ermias Joseph Asghedom, aka Nipsey Hussle, who was gunned down in front of his store on March 31, 2019, his mother Angelique Asghedom has chosen to share a spirit of celebration and peace. A video that has been circulating online shows Nipsey’s mom speaking to a group of students who have been supporting her during this tragic time. It was so refreshing to see someone who lost their oldest child be able to speak out about so much and say it in a forgiven and calm way. As most people would have been in raged and angry and wouldn’t have any words to say. Angelique Asghedom Nipsey’s mother did a video stating her perspective view on her son's murder and how the world saw him. In the video that went viral she gave some inspiring words of encouragement and motivation. She also gave his real birth name and how to pronounce it and the meaning; She also gave the world how he grew up.
Asghedom continued, “Death is not to be feared. Death is something to prepare yourself for. And when you walk this earth and you do good deeds for people and you are loving and kind, those are the things that will show on your face. You will look more beautiful. Ermias looked healthy, he looked clean. He had a glow. He was radiant, and he was so perfect that he had a sweet aroma. He even smelled good. So please do not fear death. Death is just the beginning of a wonderful world. And I tell myself, Ermias liked thrilling things, and now my son knows the secret to the mystery of life. Asé”
“When you live your life and you have God on your side – when God dwells inside of you – there is no fear. Everything is in perfect order. Everything is in the divine perfect order of our creator.”
She went on to say, “I have perfect peace, and I have strength. I want to lift you up. Please, do not stay down. Do not stay stuck. Do not mourn because Nipsey is great. He is The Great…Now he is even greater because he has no bounds and no limits. His energy is everywhere. He’s there with you now and he’s here with me now.” -Angelique Smith
