Rhythm Nation is Las Vegas

Janet Jackson has announced plans for “Metamorphosis” a three-month Las Vegas residency in May. The show will be her first Vegas residency Beginning May 17th at the Park Theater at the Park MGM resort. Other artists such as Britney Spears, Cher, and Lady Gaga will be in attendance as well. The announcement summarizes that “Metamorphosis’ peels back the layers of the immensely private life of Janet Jackson, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global icon.” Metamorphosis" will also feature a special celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of the album Rhythm Nation. Jackson wrote on Instagram, “Hey u guys, I’m so excited to announce my new Vegas residency, 'Metamorphosis’!”

Generationally, Janet Jackson is universally loved and well known. This is an even greater opportunity for her to expand her audience. Aging like the finest wine, I’m almost for certain that she will be inserted perfectly into the younger and older generations playlist as she prepares to release a new album later this year. In addition to her consistency for popping back up on the music radar and collaborations with artist such as J. Cole, she was also recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
