Star Studded Screening of FX's Snowfall (Full Gallery Inside)

American film director John Singleton is bringing his talents to the small screen with his latest project Snowfall. Best known for his realistic & gritty films such as Baby Boy, Poetic Justice, and Boyz n the Hood; Singleton is not one to back away from the touchy subjects. Snowfall is an American crime drama that takes place in 1983 Los Angeles. The story revolves around the first crack epidemic and its impact on the city. It centers on the lives of four completely different individuals who are destined to become tangled up in one another’s web.

English actor Damson Idris earns his first American television role as 19-year-old drug dealer, Franklin Saint. Seasoned Spanish actor, Sergio Peris-Mencheta (who holds more than forty films under his belt since 1997), plays the role of the Mexican luchador, Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata. From the New York stage to his TV debut, Carter Hudson portrays CIA operative, Teddy McDonald. Rounding out the foursome is American actress Emily Rios as Lucia Villanueva, the daughter of a Mexican crime boss.

Originally set up to air in 2014 on the Showtime network, the series was pushed back and later picked up by FX Networks instead for a 10-episode first season on September 30, 2016. The series premiers on July 5, 2017 however, many stars came out earlier to preview the first episode this past week. Last night, June 28, 2017, FX Networks hosted an advance screening of the new drama series "Snowfall" in Los Angeles. Over 300 people gathered at The Landmark in Westwood for a sneak peek of the highly-anticipated show. After the screening, Emmy Award-winning TV host Rocsi Diaz moderated a Q&A with "Snowfall" co-creators John Singleton and Dave Andron along with cast members Damson Idris, Carter Hudson, Michael Hyatt, Isaiah John, Angela Lewis, Amin Joseph, Juan Javier Cardenas and Filipe Valle Costa.Special guests included hip hop mogul Russell Simmons, recording artist Omarion, actor/comedian Affion Crockett, recording artist/tv personality Safaree Samuels, Judge Lauren Lake, actor Dorien Wilson, actress Angell Conwell, tv personality Masika Kalysha, "American Idol" finalist Trenyce, actress Bresha Webb and many more.
