Kerry Washington on New Film "The Perfect Mother"
With the return of Scandal for its sixth season, many fans are happy to see Kerry Washington back on their televisions every Thursday, but she could be coming to another screen very soon; the big screen. Washington is finishing her final talks to produce and star in the movie The Perfect Mother for Sony Tristar. The drama is based on Aimee Molloy’s unreleased debut novel which was purchased by HarperCollins for over $1 million dollars.
The story takes on the likes of Gone Girl and Big Little Lies as it focuses around a group of mothers and one dad investigating the kidnapping of one of their children after the baby is abducted from its crib. The movie spans over 13 days as the police botch their investigation and on the other hand, the media raises suspicions of the mother and each member of the group goes to desperate lengths to recover the baby. Along the way, horrible secrets are discovered, marriages are pushed to their breaking points and unlikely friendships are created while others are destroyed.
Washington has excelled and dominated the small screen as the lead actress of ABC’s Scandal and also producing and starring in HBO’s Confirmation as Anita Hill. However, her most recent appearances on the big screen were in 2012’s Django Unchained and 2013’s comedy Peeples. Washington will produce The Perfect Mother under her Simpson Street production company alongside Amy Pascal and Rachel O’Connor. However, the director has not been announced.
The beautiful mother, has stunned us on countless red carpets, but I think we can all agree that we can’t wait to see her on the big screen again. You go, Kerry!
