PRESIDENT OBAMA: MICHELLE “WILL NEVER RUN FOR OFFICE”
President Obama stated about his wife Michelle “will never run for office”.
The first lady, who many think could beat Donald Trump in 2020, earned admiring reviews for her speech at the Democratic National Convention, where she created the phrase, "When they go low, we go high."
“She will never run for office,” President Obama told the “Sway in the Morning” radio show. “She is as talented and brilliant a person as there is and I could not be prouder of her, but Michelle does not have the patience or the inclination to actually be a candidate herself. That’s one thing y’all can take to the bank.”
"She is as talented a person as I know," he continued. "You can see the incredible resonance she has with the American people. But I joke that she's too sensible to want to be in politics."
Obama claimed both he and Michelle would “continue to be very active” with issues they care about, such as the president’s My Brother’s Keeper and the first lady’s Let Girls Learn initiatives.
Obama also discussed some advice he plans to give to Trump, who is scheduled to be inaugurated as the 45th president on Jan. 20, 2017.
