Chris Rock Divorce Finalized

Back in 2007 Comedian Chris Rock’s film I Think I Love My Wife was released. The movie about an unfulfilling marriage between Richard Cooper (Chris Rock), and his wife was rumored to actually be based on Chris Rocks marriage. After the movie there was no rumors of divorce so if it was based on his marriage anyone would assume that Chris Rock and his wife, Malaak Compton Rock worked out their differences. This past December Chris Rock announced that after 20years of marriage he and his wife filed for divorced, and now New Jersey judge finalized Chris and Malaak Rock’s divorce.

In a recent interview with The Guardian Chris Rock states, “I’m doing OK. You, know some days are better than others, some days you are sad out of your fucking mind.” During the interview he reassured that his daughters are fine and that he is only an hour away from them. Going through divorce with Compton-Rock was not a smooth paved road, Compton-Rock made going through divorce a lot more difficult at times. People Magazine obtained divorce papers that documented that Rock claimed Compton-Rock refused to permit Chris Rock normal and usual access to his children. Rock says this divorce will not stop him from discussing relationships in his stand ups or films. It is sad to see a couple who have been able to stay married so long in the industry no longer continuing to thrive, but all there is to do is wish them both the best of luck.
