BET Makes New Additions To The New Edition Movie

Earlier BET revealed the young men who would be recreating the iconic group. The list included Empire’s Bryshere Gray, Grammy nominated singer Luke James and more. Now it looks like the Mama’s have been casted. The first on the list is LaLa Anthony who’s gained many praises for her mom skills in reality. She he will play Flo DeVoe, mother of the young Ronnie DeVoe. Next up is Yvette Nicole Brown, known for shows like The Office, The New Odd Couple, and Drake & Josh. She will play the mother of Michael Bivins, Shirley Bivins. 90’s starlet Monica Calhoun, best known for her roles in films like The Player’s Club & The Best Man, will act as Ralph Tresvant’s mother Patricia Tresvant. Actress Lisa Nicole Carson is set to play Ricky Bell’s mother Mae Bell and rounding out the matriarchs is The Wire’s Sandi McCree playing Bobby Brown’s mother Carole Brown.
